Rick kindly uploaded a link to the Local Area Cordination work in Australia see Local Area Coordination .
Prof. Judith Phillips from Swansea University was in Australia earlier this year and this work was discussed at the conference. Apparenlty LAC is also popular in New Zealand, which is not surprising as they were pioneers in Family Group Conferencing, which is a form of co-production in children’s services.
SCIE have recently published a report on co-production, which can be found at: http://www.scie.org.uk/publications/briefings/briefing31/index.asp

Thanks Nick
This is really useful and the link on Co-production is fascinating.
I think co-production as an principle is going to be central over the next few years. The more I think about the financial constraints that we will face, and the increasing pressures on communities and their vulnerable members the more important it is that we have a useful framework that addresses:
*That all people are assets
*That work is much wider than paid work
*That reciprocity is a fundamental aspect of society
* That social capital must be nurtured at all cost
Co-production does this, I feel it has the potential to be combined with individual budgets and the personalisation agenda to create powerful services grown within strengthening communities.
